When 414hp isn't enough!

Permalink 08/05/11 11:19, by GoodSpeed Performance, Categories: Announcements

For some, stock power on an M3 would be enough.  More and more often, our customers are coming to us with their new M3's wanting additional performance.

GoodSpeed Performance is no stranger to the E92 M3.  We have been tuning and modifying them since they came out in 2008.  We recently had an opportunity to transform a 2011.5 BMW with Competition Package from stock form to a highly modified machine!

Here is the car before any modifications began:

It started with some cosmetic upgrades while the car was still being broken in.  We installed some custom Melbourne Red color matched grilles and reflector deletes.  GoodSpeed offers parts in color matched, gloss or matte black, and carbon fiber.  We also did  custom full front 3M Clear Bra and 3M Crystalline Tint.

Next, it was time for a power upgrade.  The ESS Tuning VT1-535 Supercharger was just what was needed.  ESS kits power is underrated so that the owner is never disappointed.  GoodSpeed Performance opted for a custom painted intake manifold!  The manifold was sanded, cleaned up and custom painted a deep gloss black.  It now looks at home on top of the M3's V8 engine!

Dynoing the car on the Maha after install, shows that the car makes 593 horsepower at the crank and 511 horsepower at the wheel!  A HUGE improvement!  These are terrific results for an ESS kit that is priced so affordably and can be installed in 1 day!  In case that's not enough power, we also carry ESS Supercharger Kits up to 650 horsepower!

With all the new found power, the stock tires had to be upgraded to put the power to the ground!  The decision was made to go with the tried and tested BBS CH-R wheels in black sized 19x9 and 19x10.5.  Then the tires were chosen for mostly street  and some track use.  In the end, Michelin Pilot Sport 2's in 255/35 19 and 295/30 19 were installed.

After a short while, we added a full exhaust with a high flow catalytic convertor.  We offer many great exhausts for BMW, such as Eisenmann, Supersprint, Etc.  However, the Akrapovic Evolution was chosen as it not only adds a TON of power, it also reduces weight by nearly 60 lbs.  The full titanium exhaust with limited carbon fiber tips went on smoothly and sounds incredible.  The car is due for a dyno soon, and with the exhaust it should be well over 600 horsepower!

If we can help with any parts or tuning for your BMW, from cosmetic to suspension to performance, please give us a call at 480-747-6150 to discuss your options!
