GoodSpeed's Field Trip to Alabama!!

GoodSpeed Performance has had a great relationship with APR for years!  We have been invited to their Dealer Conference every year, but unfortunately, as much as we would have loved to have gone, we could never make it before.  As we grew, we just couldn't schedule the time off.  There were always builds to be completed and deadlines to meet!

This year would be different!  As soon as we got the invitation we knew we had to go!  We had met Keith at SEMA 2010, and it was a blast!  Talk about someone who is passionate about what he does!  We booked our flight, our car, our hotel and it was official; we were going to Alabama!!!

Our flight was scheduled at 7am, so we figured we would arrive at 6am to have plenty of time!  Who would take that early of a flight, the airport would be empty right?  WRONG!  Jon and I stood in the security line that wrapped all the way out of the door onto the curb!

We finally got through the line and took off for Atlanta.   When we got to Enterprise, the talked a good game and got us to upgrade for $5 to a Dodge Charger!  As we were about to leave, we spotted....A BRAND NEW VW JETTA!  We knew we had to take it, we were going to APR after all!!!!  During a break at APR, we went outsite and noticed our hood was propped open!  Turns out there was some impromptu research and development going on!  

We had some time to burn so we went to get lunch at an Atlanta landmark; Gladys Knight's Chicken and Waffles!  MAN, they aren't kidding, the food was PHENOMENAL!  We ate like kings and then made off to APR.

When we got to APR we were very impressed.  Their huge state of the art facility sits on top of a hill overlooking some Augurns roling hills!  It is right by Auburn University, and they seem to be pretty proud of their recent National Championship!    We got to see their reception area, research and development/engineering, production, sales, and shipping!  They have all kinds of specalized equipment to make sure their products are a step ahead of the competition!  We saw state of the art items every where we looked.  From lathes to Faro Arms to 3D printers, they have it!

We also got to meet and talk with most of their friendly AND knowledgeable staff!  They are a pleasure to deal with and we hope to continue to bring you some of their latest and greatest products!!!

Some of the items they will be bringing out soon:

• iPhone/Android App that will LITERALLY blow your mind!  Map Switching, Data Logging, Performance Meter (using GPS/Accelerometer/Car Info), all features of their software, troubleshooting, code reading, etc.  AND, it's WIRELESS!  
• B8 S5 Supercharger has been announced!  It's awesome!!!
• DSG Software will be coming soon!
• New APR Branded wheels for VW and Audi!  They look GREAT!!!
• Many more exciting products

While all of the people at APR were great, there were a few that we would like to thank personally (in no particular order)

Rebecca Hagen: Thank you for helping take care of all the booking and travel info, it was so easy and made our trip so much less stressful

Keith Lucas: You're the man!  What else needs to be said?  No, really, we mean it!  Thanks for watching out for us!

Evan Light: Thanks for working with us and making us feel like your most important customer.

Doug McClintock and Grant Batten: You two know your stuff like it's nobody's business!  Thanks for all the help, I'm sure we'll be calling or emailing soon!

Chris Teague:  Thanks for taking all our calls and helping us out when we are in a jam!  We appreciate it!  Sorry we didn't get to hang out more!

Danny Moody: WOW is all Jon and I could say after seeing the iPhone program!  You are a rockstar!  Thanks for working so hard on a program that will make our lives easier and make our customer even happier!

Jim Hood: It was a pleasure to meet you and get to talk with you about APR and also get to know you on a personal level!  Honestly, stop by when you swing out our way!  We'd be honored to show you around our shop!

Simon Bak: Even though you are in charge of Global Development we appreciate the amount of time you took talking to us!  We learned a lot and felt privileged that you spent so much time with us!
